‘Atomic Man’ reviews the Atomic Aquatics BC2

My name is Jeff Zaring. I received my first scuba certification in 1982 and I became a dive professional in 1986. I’ve been a pretty active diver all my life, logging well over 5000 dives in many different environments with a wide variety of equipment.

Up ’till recently, I have always been a strong SCUBAPRO fan. When Atomic Aquatics first came into existence, I was so impressed with their regulator, I immediately changed to the Atomic Aquatics Z2.

No regrets. It’s absolutely the best regulator I have ever used and will continue to use only Atomic Aquatics regulators.

In 2017, I moved to the USVIs and changed my mask to the Atomic Subframe (we did not have an ARC in stock, or I would have purchased the ARC). Not only am I extremely happy with the Subframe’s fit and comfort—it’s also a great looking mask, as well!

A few weeks ago, my dive shop owners handed me the Atomic Aquatics BC2. Once again, Atomic Aquatics products did not disappoint. This is, by far, the best BCD I have ever used!

The first thing I noticed? It felt really comfortable and I loved the support the BC2 served up. I’ve had back pain for a long time, but I have had no more sore or stiff back issues from diving since I began using the BC2.

The trim pockets are one of my favorite features—low profile and hidden. The tank ratchet is easy to use and holds the tank securely without worry of slipping or coming loose. The material is durable and incredibly comfortable. The weight pocket latching system is easy to use and provides solid security.

But all that would be meaningless without amazing performance. The Atomic Aquatics BC2 surpassed all my expectations for BCD performance. Holding and maintaining  your position underwater is effortless.

To say the least, I’m deeply impressed by what Atomic Aquatics has engineered and produced. I’m now being called Mr. Atomic because I won’t stop talking about the gear. Once I add Atomic Aquatics fins, I will be 100% Atomic Man.

Thank you Atomic Aquatics!

Captain Jeff Zaring
