Atomic Aquatics Unveils New SV1 and SV2 Snorkels

Highly innovative sleek new design starts a new trend AWAY from “BIG, UGLY” snorkels.

Atomic Aquatics announces its latest product innovations, the SV1 and SV2 streamlined snorkels. Designed with direct input from divers, dive professionals and retailers from Coast to Coast, the SV1 and SV2 snorkels offer a highly practical and functional alternative to the large, bulky, and sometimes cumbersome, snorkels currently gathering dust on many store shelves today.

The team of award-winning engineers at Atomic Aquatics designed the SV1 and SV2 models for both performance and style, just like every product Atomic Aquatics produces. The SV1 model is available immediately, while the SV-2 model is scheduled for availability later this month.

“Divers told us that they don’t like large snorkels that are difficult to use and take up extra space in their gear bags. Many people we talked to said they are abandoning the snorkel altogether. We don’t believe that’s a good thing, so we made the SV1 and SV2 as effective alternatives to what we call the ‘BUS’, or Big Ugly Snorkel,” said Dean Garraffa, Atomic Aquatics President.

Garraffa says the “SV” in the SV1 and SV2 models stands for “scupper valve” which is designed to make the snorkel self-draining and deliver effortless clearing. This patent-pending design includes one-way valves that channel the water away from the mouthpiece allowing the user maximum comfort.

While the SV1 features a conical flared top for high performance breathing, the SV2 takes that one step further. Each SV2 is designed with a sleek Semi-dry top with horizontal vents to defuse splashed water before it enters the barrel. SV2 is the perfect solution to rougher, choppier waters.

Both designs feature a quick-disconnect snorkel keeper that allows 30 degree rotation. Each snorkel also features Atomic Aquatics’ revolutionary dial silicone mouthpiece, the same that is used with the company’s award-winning regulators.

Both the SV1 and SV2 come in multiple color combinations that match the popular Atomic Aquatics Subframe and Frameless mask line.
